How to reach Zijpe from Amsterdam?
By train to the tulip fields with the last part of the trip even through the blooming fields. Hourly services from Amsterdam via Alkmaar to Schagen, Anna Paulowna or Den Helder are available.
At Anna Pauwlowna or Den Helder you can take Bus 158 to Den Helder Airport. With the right connections it takes about one hour travel time.

Photo& art expo
A unique photographic and art exhibition on bulbs in the community of Zijpe. In addition to the work of regionally known photographers and artists, you’ll find the works Zijpe.primary school students.

Behind the scenes
Always been curious where the flowers come from? Two flower growers open their doors during Flowering Zijpe and explain the history of the bulb, but also of their family. Every Tuesday you can visit the Hulsebosch family at Ruigeweg 107A in 1751 HH Schagerbrug (Phone 0224-573512), every Thursday you can visit the Burger family at Groteweg 31 in 1756 CM ’t Zand (Phone 0224-591464).
Everyone is welcome from 13.30 to 15.30 hours. Start is 13.30 hours exactly. Adults pay € 5,50 per person, children € 2,50. Subscribe via VVV Petten Tourist Office, VVV Callantsoog Tourist Office or the flower companies Hulsebosch and Burger.

Skating tour
Skate a unique journey through the flowering fields of the community of Zijpe. It will be held on Sunday, April 11, 2010 and you can start from 10.00 hours. Starting point is Camping Tempelhof, Westerweg 2, 1759 JD Callantsoog, phone 0224-581522. Start time from 10.00 hours. Finish time: 14.00 hours.
Participation from age 11 years. There are different distances (13 and 22 km, multiple rounds as possible). Approved helmet is mandatory, participation at your own risk. Cost: € 5,- per person (up to 16 years € 2,50).
Painting workshop for adults
A large painting workshop in the middle of the flower fields. The workshop is given on Sunday, April 18, 2010 and expert guidance. More information: www.yvonnezwaan.nl
Enjoy bulbs for mobility impaired persons
The bulb experience is a luxury version of the ’behind the scenes’ version. Participants will begin a tour and a presentation on the cultivation of flowering bulbs in a company. Then persons with scooters, walkers or other devices will get closer to the blooming flower fields than ever before.
Date: Saturday, April 24 and Sunday, April 25, 2010.
Bike ride
This bike ride along and through the flower fields is a unique experience. The bike ride takes place on Sunday, April 25, 2010 and is 40 km. Starting point: VVV-Tourist Office Callantsoog, Jewelweg 8, 1759 HA Callantsoog, Phone 0224-581541.

Hiking
Once a year, the flower growers open their fragile land to the curious public and tell them proudly about their passion. This unique walking tour brings you very close to the flower fields.
Only Saturday, May 1, 2010 fifty landowners will give permission to cross their fields on foot. Area heads are appointed and the families of the bulb growers provide cakes and drinks along the route. They can also provide the necessary explanations about the bulb cultivation.
Distances: 7½, 15, 20 and 30 kilometers. The different distances take the walkers through various sites and villages. An additional walk (40 km) is available through Zwanenwater (Swan Lake) which is a nature reserve
(Please note that walking through the bulbfields is more strenuous than on hardened surfaces).

- 7½ - 20- 30 kilometers:

- 15 kilometers:
Camping Watersnip, Pettemerweg 4, 1755 KK Petten.
In both places there is plenty of free parking.
Departure:
- Nordic walkers: Between 7.30 and 8.00 pm.
- 20 and 30 kilometers: Between 8.00 and 12.00 hours.
- 7½ and 15 kilometers: Between 8.00 and 14.00 hours.

Please note that dogs are not allowed! Participants are requested not to pick flowers.

Photo & poetry contest
Who takes the most unique picture or writes the most beautiful poem of Zijpe’s blooming flowerfields in the spring of 2010? These photographs and poems are not for commercial purposes. The best entries will be exhibited at the Flowering Zijpe Photographic and Art Expo in 2011! The prize is a flying lesson or flight above the ”Kop van Noord-Holland”.
The photo must be taken in Zijpe. The minimum size is 20 x 30 cm.
